Praise the Lord ! I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, In the assembly of the upright and in the congregation. The works (Acts) of the Lord are great, Studied by all who have pleasure in them. His work is honorable and glorious, And His righteousness endures forever. He has made His wonderful works to be remembered; The Lord is gracious and full of compassion. Psalms 111:1-4 NKJV
I love how the The New Living Translation states verse 2 of Psalms 111.
How amazing are the deeds (acts) of the Lord! All who delight in him should ponder them.
The Acts of God Part 10
I pray the Holy Spirit speaks to you about each of these acts. I struggled to not comment on each one of them. I continue to be encouraged with the truth/reality that God is always working, acting on our behalf for our good. You have heard it before but it is worth saying again. “If God did it then, He can do it again, If He did there, He can do it here. If He did it for them, He can do it for us.”
God covers Himself with light as a garment.
He stretches out the heavens like a curtain.
He makes the clouds His chariot.
He walks on the wings of the wind.
He makes His angels spirits.
He makes His ministers a flame fire. (The Fire of God should mark the life of every God called minister of the Gospel. The same fire in the eyes of Jesus should burn in the eyes of those carrying the message of Jesus.)
He laid the foundations of the earth.
He created the seas, mountains, the earth and all that is in heaven and earth.
He sends springs into the valleys. (My God, I pray a pastor reads that one line and preaches a sermon series on the springs of God in the midst of the valley. Come on somebody)
He satisfies the earth with the fruit of His works.
He plants, He waters, He causes grass to grow, and vegetation, He appointed the moon for seasons, He made darkness, and night, He gives food in due season. (My goodness, somebody needs to be reminded God is in control of the harvest you need and the season you are in.)
He opens His hand and they are filled with good.
He controls the storms of life.
He controls life and death.
He sends forth His Spirit and creates life.
He renews the face of the earth.
His look can cause the earth to tremble.
His touch can cause hills to smoke.
He remembers covenant forever.
He rememebers His word for a thousand generations.
He created the covenant, confirmed the covenant, and fulfills the covenant.
(All of these following men were types of Jesus Christ) He sent Joseph, He increased His people greatly. He sent Moses and Aaron, He delivered the people from Egytptian slavery, performed signs and wonders.See Psalms 105:26-41 for a list of the acts of God through Moses and Aaron. He sent Abraham, He gave them land.
He satisfies men with the bread of heaven.
He opened the rock in the wilderness.
He remembers His holy promise.
He brings His people out with joy and gladness.
He saves for His name’s sake.
He makes known His mighty power.
He saves us from the hand of those who hate us.
He redeems us from the hand of the enemy.
Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds (Acts).Psalms 105:1-2 NLT
